Whiteface in Winter

Whiteface in Winter

Hiking/Backpacking Date: Sun January 14, 2018

Join us on this 11 mile below treeline hike to the summit of Whiteface (4,000 feet) and Passaconaway (4,043 feet), pending conditions. This is a great opportunity for hikers working on their winter 4,000 footer list. We will hike a 11 mile loop, gain 4000 ft, with limited views of of Lake Winnepesauke and the Presidentials. This is a winter hike at a fast pace (2mph) and we will take few breaks. Sections of the trail are steep and there is a river crossing. Members of the group are expected to have recent winter hiking experience and standard winter gear. Pack crampons, microspikes, snowshoes, warm layers, no water bladders, and plenty of on-the-go high calorie snacks as we will not stop for an official lunch.
